La organización estadounidense de rescate de perros Big Dog Rescue, de Florida, habla de milagro: se ha encontrado con vida a un perro debajo de los escombros tras el paso del huracán Dorian hace tres semanas.

Lo hallaron entre los restos de un edificio que colapsó hace casi un mes tras el paso del huracán Dorian por las Bahamas. Y claro, lo han bautizado con el nombre de ‘Miracle‘ (milagro en inglés) porque se podría decir que ha vuelto a nacer. Tiene solo un añito y lo localizaron gracias al uso de métodos de detección infrarrojos instalados en drones.

El animalito ha logrado sobrevivir a un huracán de categoría 5 que provocó la muerte de al menos 60 personas, según las cifras oficiales, y además, a estas atrapado más de tres semanas largas sin alimentos y bajo los escombros.

La asociación animal ha explicado que el dron equipado con infrarrojos que salió en busca de perros que pudieran haber quedado entre las casas derrumbadas localizó a Miracle ‘, pero no se movía. A medida que se aproximaron hasta él descubrieron que el animal se había quedado atrapado bajo una unidad de aire acondicionado y que logró sobrevivir bebiendo el agua de la lluvia.

Cuando lo encontraron, el animal estaba muy demacrado y con claros síntomas de desnutrición. Ahora, está al cuidado de un equipo de expertos que velan por su bienestar y se preocupan por que recupere el peso perdido y termine el tratamiento y la terapia hasta recuperarse por completo.

❤️?BDRR’s MIRACLE?❤️ Miracle & BDRR’s President & Founder, @lauree.simmons, have had quite a Sunday. This sweet boy is not only famous, but a survivor. And so many people want to know him! That’s why he has had so many interviews today! You can follow his progress of gaining strength by following our social media channels. Miracle is now enjoying a lazy Sunday full of love, water, & food! He’s very weak and anemic from about 3 weeks of surviving off rain water. ? He’s definitely got a long road to recovery ahead. He will need physical therapy and a lot of help and strength so he can fully walk again. Our wonderful medical team is monitoring him and keeping him as comfortable as possible. El rescate de Miracle es solo uno de los 112 que el equipo de Big Dog Rescue ha llevado a cabo en Bahamas hasta ahora. 57 de ellos, ya se han reunido con sus dueños en Abaco y Gran Bahama.
