Un foca con un pulpo en la boca abofetea a un piragüista

El neozelandés Kyle Mulinder practicaba piragüismo en aguas marinas de su país cuando una foca emergió cerca de su canoa y le dio un bofetón en la cara con un pulpo que llevaba en la boca. El deportista subió ayer el vídeo a su cuenta de Instagram y es tan llamativo que hoy divulgan la historia los medios locales y extranjeros.

El curioso hecho, que fue captado por una cámara y que se ha convertido en viral en internet, sucedió el pasado fin de semana en aguas cercanas a la urbe de Kaikoura, en el noroeste de la Isla Sur de Nueva Zelanda.

Wrong place, right time. ? Yes I got slapped in the face with an octopus by the seal! I know crazy right. Here’s the story. Last weekend I was out testing the new #GoProHero7 with @kaikourakayaks and my mate @taiyomasuda. After a fun paddle around the peninsula catching waves we spotted a giant male seal fighting an octopus. Before we knew it the fight came to us and well the rest is slap to the face ? I’m not sure who got more of a surprise the seal, the octopus or me. Either way the octopus held onto the bottom of kayak for some time before our guide was able to get it off with his paddle then it swam away to fight another day. Mulinder declaró al diario «New Zealand Herald» que se encontraba con unos amigos observando la fauna que había a su alrededor cuando se produjo el ataque.

«No se quién se asustó más: el pulpo, la foca o yo», ironizó el piragüista al referirse a lo que calificó como «uno de esos raros incidentes de la madre naturaleza».
